Accurately measuring pulse rate, oxygen saturation and blood flow is essential when assessing the status and treatment options for tiny patients. The handheld Rad 5 allows medical staff to accurately and efficiently measure and record these, and quickly track and respond to any changes. Our Unit currently does not have any handheld devices to take a child's observations, we have outdated monitors on wheels, these become a problem when attempting to take observations on small babies in prams, near mothers breastfeeding or parents nursing small children in small clinic rooms. Being able to use handheld devices up close to the child will make the taking observations a lot easier on both the nurses and the child.
