The ability to deliver effective ventilations represents a critical factor when managing newborns requiring ventilatory support. The Monivent Neo Training System is used during ventilation training on manikin. It measures flow via a Sensor Module wirelessly integrated in the face mask and provides continuous feedback on several ventilation parameters, including tidal volume and mask leakage. This equipment is required and needed for training and re-training of health staff including paediatricians, medical trainees and midwives, nurses and GPs. As intubation of neonates becomes less frequent techniques to optimise non invasive ventilation are even more important, especially in a regional setting like Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
