We currently use a Video laryngoscope, but are in need of new reusable blades. The blade is used to obtain a view of the vocal chords and is a popular tool used in paediatric anaesthesia. The current blades have to be sterilised, this removes them from the clinical area for a number of hours. Thus, having another set of blades will assist in the provision of timely treatment, making it safer for patients. It will also assist in the teaching of junior doctors, as we can see what they are seeing and can guide them better. Different sized blades are used for different sized babies.
