JM-105 JAUNDICE DETECTOR, St John of God Geelong Hospital, Postnatal Ward, VIC
$10,600.00
Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) is common in newborns, occurring in around 60% of full-term and 80% of premature babies during their first week of life. It is often an indication of underlying symptoms, so it is vital to screen babies for jaundice efficiently and effectively. Severe, untreated jaundice can lead to poor health outcomes, including deafness and brain damage. Unlike a traditional blood test, jaundice detectors are non-invasive and provide results in minutes rather than hours. South East Regional (Bega) Hospital no longer has a working jaundice detector and requires this in order to detect jaundice in babies.
