JM-105 JAUNDICE DETECTOR, Gympie Hospital, Maternity and Paediatric, QLD
$10,600.00
Jaundice, or yellowing of the skin and eyes, occurs in approximately 50% of full-term and 80% of pre-term babies in their first week of life. It is often an indication of underlying symptoms and as a result, screening of babies for jaundice efficiently and effectively is vital. Unlike a traditional blood test, the JM-105 is non-invasive and provides results in minutes rather than hours. This equipment is required for use during Gympie Hospital's home visiting service to limit the need of newborn babies coming into hospital for blood tests. Midwives can use this equipment to determine whether at home treatment or further investigation for jaundice is required.
