The Intellivue X3 Patient Monitoring System is a specialised monitor that measures children and baby's heart rates, respirations and oxygen saturations. It equipment that allows for quick and accurate recognition of deterioration which is vital. It alerts doctors and nurses to when patients require admission into intensive care. It is an essential part of monitoring of their health status and is key to efficient medical care.
This piece of equipment will be used to support the Grampians Health Paediatrics team to conduct health visits in the comfort of patient's homes and will allow the team to care for a wide range of children including infants with bronchiolitis, premature neonates and children with cancer. Access to this equipment in the Grampians Health at Home Paediatric Stream will reduce the amount of time children need to spend in hospital, and in some cases, these children might not have to attend hospital at all.
