The ergonomic and lightweight Infinity M540 provides continuous monitoring for patients. Continuous surveillance helps to reduce undetected events and supports a more complete patient record. If there any changes in a patient’s vital signs, staff are alerted immediately and can avert a potentially fatal event. The Royal Hospital for Women Newborn Care Centre performs the largest number of preterm infant surgeries in NSW and is known as a premier preterm surgical centre. In excess of 4,200 women birthing at RHW each year. RHW cares for some of the most complex pregnancies throughout NSW including neonates requiring surgery. Clinicians will be able to download trends to determine healthcare needs, such as oxygen saturation levels over 12 hours and see significant incidents in patient care history. The new monitors will be able to integrate with health IT systems and provide data that is essential to clinicians. This monitoring platform is consistent with other areas of the NICU so patients can have continuous surveillance for their entire stay.
