This bundle includes 5 x 950 Humidifiers that will significantly increase the number of babies and children that can be cared for in Royal Darwin Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) & Paediatrics wards.
The 950 Humidification System is pivotal in caring for sick and premature babies. This equipment offers essential, lifesaving ventilation support to these infants, ensuring their tiny lungs stay warm and do not dry out. Despite being the biggest tertiary referral hospital in the Northern Territory, limited funding has affected the overall health system in the region.
One in five NT Indigenous babies are hospitalised with an acute lower respiratory infection at least once before their first birthday. Over 3,000 children present to Royal Darwin Hospital annually, with a significant proportion of patients being Indigenous. Royal Darwin Hospital's NICU and paediatric ward urgently needs more of these bedside guardians to support the care of the sick children in their care.
