The Atom IncuArch Transport Incubator is a closed-care transport incubator for neonatal and premature infants and is intended to transport low birth weight infants and seriously ill neonates. The Incubator provides excellent transport capacity and is powered by a long-life lithium-ion battery, resulting in an incubator that is highly suitable for transportation in Australia.
Obtaining this equipment will assist the Western NSW Virtual Care Unit in developing their capabilities to transfer mothers and infants from rural areas for specialist and post specialist care throughout the Western NSW LHD. At the moment, they are facing challenges of time delays for when babies are receiving timely care in the region. Within their area, they have had incidents where women and newborns have had delays, refusal, separation between mother and infant and have been made to transfer within their own private vehicles.
