Approximately one quarter of our referrals to the Kids Cottage at Warilla are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, who have a high incidence of ear disease. This audiology equipment will enable us to continue to meet the needs of our communities ensuring early identification and appropriate referral for ear disease treatment and hearing loss management. Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Nowra Audiology service needs audiology equipment to continue to provide hearing assessment clinics to the paediatric population in the Shoalhaven area. Currently, its audiometer for diagnostic paediatric assessments is unreliable and outdated.
